Travis A. CushmanTravis A. Cushman was admitted to the Montana Bar in 2002, after receiving his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Montana. While obtaining his J.D., Travis was a Student Body Association representative, Student Facility advisor for group competition and a member of Phi Delta Phi.

He has been admitted to practice in all Montana State Courts as well as the Federal Legal System. He practices in Montana City Courts, County Justice Courts and Montana District Courts. He also practices in Federal Trial Courts, the Montana Supreme Court, the 9th Circuit Federal Appeals Court and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Travis has served as a special civil prosecutor for the City of Great Falls and the Cascade County Attorney's Office and occasionally serves as a substitute Judge, presiding over cases in Great Falls Municipal Court.

Travis has appeared in many of the above referenced Courts as a county attorney intern, an associate at a large Montana law firm, an assistant public defender as well as a private attorney in solo practice.  Currently, Travis specializes in the representation of abused and neglected children and in mediating cases thereof.  Travis also practices in the areas of business law, construction litigation, estate planning and landlord - tenant law. 

Travis is an active member of the American Bar Association and over the years has served as: an ABA/YLD District Representative for the State of Montana and Idaho; Assistant Editor of the Affiliate (nationally published six articles); and as an Affiliate Assistance Team Member.  Travis was awarded an ABA/YLD fellowship for his volunteer commitment in 2007.

In the ABA/GP-Solo Division, Travis served: as a YLD Liaison to the GP-Solo; on the Criminal Law Committee; on the Law Trend e-Newsletter Committee; as a member of the GP-Solo Young Lawyer Committee; on the Public Service Committee; on the Awards Committee; as well as a member of the Corporate Sponsors Committee. 

Travis is also an active member of Montana's State Bar and as such has served as: Cascade County Bar Association Treasurer; Cascade County Bar NLS Vice President; Montana State Bar NLS President Elect; and President. 

Travis has always been committed to the community in which he lives and has been active in organizing and participating in public service projects such as coordinating the "Law Day" activities between Great Fall's junior high schools and local attorneys, as well as giving Law Day presentations to area high school students during their government classes.  Travis volunteers his time and legal knowledge by accepting pro bono cases from the Montana's Bench Bar Referral Program, litigating cases on behalf of the CCLCs’ pro bono referral services since 2002 and also litigated cases for college students for free via the University of Montana Legal Service Center, has served on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit Cascade County Law Clinic (CCLC).

In light of his ongoing commitment in volunteering legal time to help the indigent, his community, and the public, he was given the 2009 Cascade County Bar Association's Honorable Judge Robert P. Goff Pro-Bono Award. He received the award for outstanding service to citizens who would otherwise have no access to the civil justice system.
